He Got Up Preparations

The 2nd Annual He Got Up will take place on Palm Sunday, April 9th. We are expecting over 20,000 homeless and underprivileged to be served at Camping World Stadium, Orlando, Florida. We have confirmed over 500 volunteers, 200 barbers, medical teams, and legal teams for the event with more people contacting us to get involved every day.

T.G. Lee has donated 3,000 pints of milk and Krispy Kreme has donated 300 dozen donuts. Pepsi and Frito Lay, like last year, are donating thousands of drinks and snacks to be handed out to attendees with their lunch and on arrival at the Stadium. Universal Resorts Orlando and Loews Hotels have donated over 55 boxes of clothing and toys, in addition to our contributions from Goodwill for the clothing drives that will run inside the event.

Meanwhile, local 9-year old girl, Adeline Mueller, has collected over 1,200 pairs of shoes for the event to do her part for this amazing cause. This is an incredible feet for such a young person and we can’t thank Adeline enough for her generosity and support for the event and those in need.

Bus transportation is being provided across three counties in the Central Florida area to assist the guests to find their way to He Got Up where they will get access to food, showers, a haircut, legal advice, health and wellbeing services, clothing drives, job finding services and more.

Pastor Tim Johnson had a vision for this life changing event and it is becoming more powerful with time. Sign up to be a volunteer at www.hegotup.org. Our volunteer training days are Saturday, March 25th at 10am and 1pm and Thursday, March 30th at 7pm. We will be going out into the community to spread the word about He Got Up on Friday, March 31st at 3pm and Saturday, April 1st at 9am.
