This week, Australia mourns the loss of “a leader, an inspirational entrepreneur” as Michael Gudinski passes at age 68.
Founder of Frontier Touring, Gudinski is remembered as one of the Australian music scene’s most iconic and influential figures. Gudinski saw a long career in producing come to fruition at just 20 years old with the set up of Mushroom, later establishing himself in the events sector. It was here that our co-founder, Craig Lovett, was fortunate enough to cross paths with “the great man” – the first of many throughout Craig’s 35 years in the industry.
Craig’s fond reflection of a long involvement with Gudinski has been published by Ausleisure, alongside Bruce Springsteen, Jimmy Barnes and others touched by Gudinksi’s influence. In his tribute, Craig remembers a long partnership which stemmed from less-than-ideal circumstances, testament only to the extraordinary life that was.
