Planning for the World Polo Championship 2017 is well and truly underway. The preparations for the two-week event have shifted into high gear after the Event Organising Team met in February for a three-day workshop.

Since the workshop the LEP has been approved by the local Hawkesbury City Council 12 – 0 in favour for the event and the Event Development Application is being finalised as we speak to be submitted to council for approval.

The team is growing by the day and are working hard on all aspects of the event including entertainment, operations, procurement, corporate hospitality, marketing and communications and more. Given the size of the event, the length in which it will run for and the millions of moving parts that will be turning together to make the event happen, the World Polo Championship team will continue to grow with the onboarding of contractors, volunteers, interns and more!

Four of the eight polo playing teams have been confirmed including Australia (Host Nation), Chile (2015 World Polo Champions), Argentina and New Zealand. The last four teams will be confirmed by the end of May once the last of the Qualifiers are played. Zones A (USA), C (Europe) and E (Africa and Middle East) are where the final four teams will be coming from and we will be sure to keep you informed on who is coming to AUSTRALIA!
